![]() ![]() I have no idea why it was gone, and why this suddenly was necessary, and I had read about the 'use phone while selecting on tv' solution, but it took me a couple tries to figure out it had to be done while the black 'error message' was on. Everything seems to be working fine on the Chromecast TV itself. I went through all the setup steps on my iPhone and see the TV itself in the Google home app on iPhone. Just replaced my original Chromecast (no longer supported) with the latest Chromecast TV 4K. Now choose it on the phone as you usually would (selecting which album and so on) Chromecast TV not showing up in home app.Select your device, tap the settings-sprocket, choose Ambient, and after a moment, the previously missing Google Photos option is displayed once more on your phone.Select the photo or album you want to cast, and then, at the top right, select Cast. And this is the important step – do not say ok, but stay on this page! And while it's on your tv, open the Google Home app on your phone. To start casting, follow the steps below: Open the Google Photos app. Now there's this black screen, saying you need to do it in the app on your phone. The ambient mode in my chromecast will not display my google photo albums to cast a slideshow during ambient mode. Open the Google Home app > tap Chromecast device > go to Settings > at the top right, tap the 3 dots icon > tap Factory Reset > tap Yes.On CCwGTV, go to Settings, and under Ambient (or whatever it's called), either set it to Google Photos (or if it already is on that, in spite of not showing photos, choose something else, and then re-choose Google Photos).Recently I have noticed that it has not been doing it. To switch the network, go to the Google Home app. ![]() Ok, here's the thing – found a solution that I didn't really get at first, so let me lay it out step by step. 10-09-2022 09:05 AM On my Chromecast I have it set to show Google Photos when it’s in ambient mode. If the existing network is not stable, you will have to face Chromecast not showing up issue on your device. ![]()
